Data deletion

Last updated: August 1, 2026

You can delete a Desklight workspace and the data it received from connected platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and storage providers like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and Figma) from inside the app. If your login belongs to more than one workspace, this action deletes only the workspace you name. To request deletion of your login profile and data across every workspace, email privacy@desklight.ai; we verify the request and any other workspace obligations before processing it.

Meta and Threads deletion requests

If you remove Desklight through Facebook, Instagram, or Threads and ask that platform to delete your data, its signed callback triggers an immediate, connection-scoped deletion. Desklight deletes its stored token and removes the Meta-derived connection, destination, post-receipt, attempt-log, and short-lived publish-cache data described above before returning a confirmation code. For retry safety and operational proof, the minimized receipt contains a one-way HMAC of the platform identity and the internal workspace IDs affected; terminal receipts are deleted after 90 days. The raw app-scoped platform user ID is not stored in the receipt. Your Desklight workspace and user-authored drafts remain unless you separately delete the workspace below.

Self-serve deletion

Step 1

Go to app.desklight.ai/login and sign in with your account email and password.

Step 2

Open Settings → Danger zone

In the sidebar, click Settings, then under the Advanced group click Danger zone.

Step 3

Click "Delete workspace"

Confirm by typing the workspace name. That workspace is then scheduled for final erasure. We send a confirmation email immediately.

Grace period

For up to 28 days after you click Delete, that workspace's data is preserved but the workspace is locked. If you change your mind — or if a compromised login triggered the deletion — you can sign back in during that recovery window and click Restore workspace. You can instead email privacy@desklight.ai to waive recovery and request immediate erasure.

If you do not restore, the remaining two days are an operations buffer. In the open beta, a Desklight operator verifies and processes final database and object-storage erasure no later than 30 days after the request; this is not an unattended automatic purge.

What gets deleted

When final erasure is processed:

Workspace deletion does not automatically refund the current paid term, completed charges, or unused workspace credit. Contact support@desklight.ai before deleting if you may qualify under the Refund Policy. Any unused balance still attached to the workspace is forfeited at final erasure unless applicable law requires otherwise. Certain billing and transaction records may be retained after workspace erasure only where required or permitted by applicable tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution obligations. We do not store full card numbers; payment-card data is handled by Stripe.

Revoking platform access without deleting Desklight

If you only want to disconnect a single platform — for example, revoke Facebook access while keeping your Desklight workspace — sign in, go to Connectors, find the connector card, click the ... menu, and select Disconnect. We delete the OAuth token and selected publishing-destination metadata immediately. You can also revoke access from inside the connected platform's own settings:

If you can't sign in

If you've lost access to your login email, need deletion across multiple workspaces, or can't reach the in-app flow, email privacy@desklight.ai from the email address on the login. Include every workspace name you remember. We'll verify the request, account for other workspace members' access and applicable record-retention obligations, and respond within the period required by applicable law.
